Pownce: Send stuff to your friends.

Pownce

I’m not fortunate enough to have received an invitation to this revolutionary instant communication tool, but from the screenshots, it seems pretty impressive.

Pownce is a way to send messages, files, links, and events to your friends. You’ll create a network of the people you know and then you can share stuff with all of them, just a few of them, or even just one other person really fast.

It is coded in part by famous founder of digg, Kevin Rose, which is definitely going to help this service get free publicity and traffic when hundreds of thousands of digg users (including me) swarm to the site, requesting invitations.

From the look of the screenshots, it seems that the service is simple, no strings attached. The optional software is very nice, no advertisements, unwanted packages, and hooks that tie it into every aspect of your system (I’m looking at you, Microsoft Windows Live Messenger Beta). And you don’t even need to actually install the software on your computer, all of the features of the software are available online, and are still just as cool.

I definitely suggest requesting an invite.
