Once you get passed the site’s atrocious English, you’ll love Deezer, which allows you to search for and listen to any song, any time you want. What’s the catch? None, really. There is no limit to how many songs you can search for, how many songs you can listen to (except for, of course, your ISP’s bandwidth limit), etc. Not only that, but if you don’t see one of your favorite artists there, you can easily upload an unlimited amount of songs for the community to enjoy. You can even share your songs with your friends, and embed them on external sites!
I know what you’re thinking: “This can’t be legal!” It probably isn’t. Not in America, at least. Being based in France, where the laws are different (the site may be hosted somewhere else, altogether, though), it might actually be telling the truth (I’m unfamiliar with France’s copyright laws, though). The site existed before under the name BlogMusik, but was unable to cope with the legal troubles and had to go offline. Now with it’s new name, Deezer, it’s back online and (supposedly) 100% legit. Below, I have embedded a song by Pink Martini named “No Hay Problema,” to see how it all works.
UPDATE: Apparently, the embed doesn’t work right now. I removed it, sorry. Instead, here’s a “share by email” link: http://www.blogmusik.net/?urlIdSong=11766

Great, good write-up, because I was wondering about this already. I hadn’t checked it out much before but now, after the change, it looks and works even better. Mate of mine even told me you can create playlists and listen to those, just like you’d have a personal mix album. Crazy.
Thanks, I try my best!
I agree, can’t wait to get into it more.
It is a very nice service, thanks Colin for sharing it. I have found you can listen to anything, add anything to a playlist and play them whenever. The only downside I have found is that not all songs bit rates are the same, so some do not sound as good as others. Not only that because obviously the site and files are hosted outside of the USA (where I reside) the speed for which I can stream the songs is severely limited. Even after that, it is a great site and I hope it survives any storms to come.
I do my best! And yeah, despite its shortcomings due to location, and the quality of some users’ uploaded songs, it is a phenomenal service.
this site is to hard to work. i don’t know how to listen to the songs!
I’m sorry to hear that!
To me, the site is easy to manover around, easy to upload but despite clicking on the activation email, cannot post in the forums.
The main page says I am logged in, the forums say I am not but will not accept my log-in details (just says awaiting activation. Its a great site but they need to iron out some of the bugs.
I’ve never tried to use the forums, I’m more interested for the music aspect than the community aspect. But yeah, there are some serious problems with the service. I do think it has some great potential, though.
are3 you from long island
