Beta

I have invites to many private beta web services, which I am going to go ahead and list here, for your beta testing pleasure. To get an invite, just fill out the comment form with your real name and email address, and specify up to 2 services you would like an invite to. Alternatively, check out Invite Share. Might take longer for you to receive the invite, though.

UPDATE: Added Yahoo! Mash, Grooveshark, and Streamy.

  • Pownce: My favorite web site on the internet, and I have 25 invites. Get them while they’re hot.
  • MySkitch/Skitch: Best quick-and-dirty (Mac only) image editor available, with quick upload and sharing functions integrated with their online service. 0 invites, sorry.
  • Yumondo: A service that allows you to share information on local entertainment, including nightlife, concerts, etc. 11 invites (it stays there?).
  • 8apps: When it is finally out of beta, I am pretty sure it will have 8 apps, but until then, there are four social, work and productivity apps available for your internet pleasure. 48 invites. Closing in January?  That’s too bad!
  • Scrybe: A calendar, notebook, and planner service that allows offline access to a rich, web app. Unlimited invites.
  • Stixy: Basically a bulletin board on the web, allowing you to post notes, images, events, files, etc. for whoever you want to view (elaborate sharing and privacy control). Unlimited invites. Gone public!
  • Joost: The future in internet TV, providing quality content from many major television companies supported by very small advertisements between shows. Unlimited invites For some reason, I can’t launch Joost on any of my computers. I’ll update this when I can.
  • Yahoo! Mash: Yahoo’s attempt at a Facebook competitor since Yahoo! 360 is failing so miserably. Unlimited invites. (See my review post)
  • Grooveshark: An interesting music sharing and purchasing site, that allows users to add music to the library and get paid a bit whenever someone buys a song that they added. Unlimited invites.
  • Streamy: A new content aggregation service that looks to combine instant news and content sharing with instant messaging and social networking, in an ambitious, dazzling, and a bit intimidating package. 1 invite. All gone, sorry!
  • Moola: Some site that gives you a penny, and lets you play against other players to win their money.  You can cash your winnings at PayPal. 100 invites
  • WeeWar: An addicting and fun little strategy game that lets you battle against your friends.  It includes a little chat window in the game window to keep it social, as well.  Unlimited invites.
  • PhotoPhlow: A new way to look at and interact with Flickr and its members.  Just watch the screencast on the site, it’s really an amazing service.  3 invites.
  • Jaiku: Another micro-blogging platform, created long before Pownce, has closed its registrations except for invitations upon being bought by Google. 10 invites.

I probably have a lot more of these, but I can’t remember them right now, so when I do, I’ll add them.

    Well, I’m swimming in Pownce invites myself (11 as well). Maybe they’ve gone public too fast, too early? Or maybe I don’t have enough friends.

    Not sure about the rest, but since I’m now supposed to be a serious, productive person, I’d love to check out 8apps. It does look good and rather promising.

    Just got an invite to Scrybe, but none to give away myself yet, it seems.

    I only signed-up for Scrybe today, so I hadn’t noticed that.

    It’ll be interesting to see if I can put any of them to use.
